Marrakech, the red city

Marrakech, the red city

First part of the Palem travel diaries. We reveal our sources of inspiration, our favourites, our addresses, our unusual places, our encounters.

First stopover in Marrakech.

Marrakech. The "red city" offers the promise of a disconnected interlude with an undeniable change of scenery. An effervescent place, Marrakech is full of a multitude of riches to discover.

A concentrate of multiple influences, Marrakech gives the PALEM collections its flavours, colours and refinement. A mecca of warm colours such as terracotta, ochre, copper and sand, Marrakech inspires every colour in PALEM. It is also a craftsmanship and a sense of detail, specific to the brand's codes.

Stay here :

Le riad Talaa12 in the heart of Medina.

A true haven of serenity, this riad has managed to combine with elegance and character a traditional and fundamentally modern design. Discreet escape from the bustling streets of the medina. Karim is an exceptional host with multiple attentions to make your stay even more unforgettable.

The Jnanetamsna riad in the Palmeraie

One of our shooting locations for the first PALEM campaign. Surrounded by lush vegetation and an organic botanical garden, this magnificent property is an oasis in the heart of the Palmeraie. A warm, elegant and refined place. Each object, colors, fabrics, patterns bring this authentic and singular touch.

Taste:

Le jardin

www.lejardinmarrakech.com

An alternative to the well known Café des Epices. Second establishment created by Kamal Lftimi, the garden is an oasis of freshness in the middle of the Medina's bubbling alleys. A cuisine blending Moroccan and European flavours.

La pausa in the Agafay Desert

We drive about 40 kilometers to reach the Agafay desert and arrive at La Pausa. Large nomadic tents extend to create a disconnected and timeless place. The team is charming, you will taste typical Moroccan dishes, very refined. A delight...two options after this generous meal: a well deserved break by the pool or go for a walk to enjoy the desert with a 360 degree view. Small visit in the shop obliges (our typical and colorful fans from the Paris shop come from there) !

33 rue majorelle

After an unforgettable visit to the Majorelle garden and the YSL museum, you will discover the fine selection of this concept store/gallery that highlights local crafts and brands.

Go further :

Escape for a few more days to discover the foothills of the Atlas Mountains with Joel, our atypical adventurer of the Marathon des Sables. Aboard his 4*4, he will make you discover the authentic Morocco, the old oasis road, off the beaten track. Stop to taste a Berber omelette, walk through the desert, slalom in the middle of earthen kasbah, visit an old Islamic library and above all meet Moroccans and listen to rich stories and anecdotes.
